OBJECTIVES

  • Digital Health Records: Create a framework for maintaining digital health records that are accessible and secure for patients and healthcare providers.
  • Interoperability: Facilitate seamless sharing of health information across different healthcare systems and providers to improve patient care.

The National Digital Health Mission (NDHM) is a transformative initiative launched by the Government of India to create a comprehensive digital health ecosystem that enhances the accessibility, efficiency, and quality of healthcare services across the country. Central to this mission is the ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) card, which serves as a unique health identifier for individuals, streamlining their access to various healthcare services. The NDHM aims to establish interoperable digital health records, empowering patients to manage their health information while ensuring robust data security and privacy. By integrating healthcare services and promoting digital literacy, the initiative not only facilitates better patient care but also supports the effective implementation of national health programs. Ultimately, the NDHM and ABHA card represent significant steps toward modernizing India's healthcare landscape, making it more inclusive and efficient for all citizens.
